AIR-DRIED HAIR

Ditch the hair dryer this summer

for a look that’s pretty and damage-free.

“Natural textures will be huge this

season,” says New York City-based

celebrity hairstylist Matt Fugate.

You can get the look by using

Moroccanoil Treatment, After slathering

in this, your hair will air-dry frizz-free

and be left smelling like a wonderful

musky dream.

BANGS

Bangs are having another moment,

but are you finally ready to give them

a try? ” Bangs are an easy thing to get

into, especially  for anyone who

wants a change but doesn’t want to

change very much,” says Shala

Farshid, celebrity hairstylist and

founder of Shala Salon. “Women with

long hair who experience boredom

can turn to bangs instead of a

haircut. They’re better than Botox!”

SUPER BLUNT BOBSsummer-2017-hairstyle-trend-5.jpg

Sorry, folks, but according to

Fugate, the lob is dead. “The

return of strong architecture is

back with super blunt lines in

bob,” he says. Silvestra agrees,

saying, “Women who became

uncomfortable going from long

hair to mid-length hair have

now built up enough courage to

go shorter.”

SHORT AND CROPPED

It’s the season to go short but not

too short. “I don’t think too many

women are going to take the

shaved head plunge like Kristen

Stewart and Cara Delevingne, but

the funky mess chops like Jaimie

Alexander’s are great,” Fugate

says.

SHAGSsummer-2017-hairstyle-trend-4.jpg

The shag is back – 2017 style.

Not quite as intense as they

were in the 70’s, the modern

on the look is longer, full of

volume, and not so intensely

layered. “You’ll definitely be

seeing super rock ‘n’ roll

haircuts like Lady Gala was

rocking at Coachella, “Fugate

says.

LONG AND SLEEK

If you still haven’t mastered the

straight-from -the -beach look (it’s

hard!), don’t worry: This summer is

all about straight hair. “No more

beachy waves! Now that the

housewives are doing them, the cool

girls are moving onto a long, sleek,

and healthy look,” Fugate says.

BRAIDS

Battling hot weather is about to be

easier than ever thanks to the braid

trend. “French braids and pigtail

braids are low-maintenance and easy

to deal with during high-humidity

weather or on the beach, “Silvestra

says.

SMOOTH PIXIES

While going short is usually

considered bold, notes Lorean

Cairns, owner of Fox and Jane

Salons in New York, 2017 is the

year for even “the trigger shy to

dabble with this cut.” The secret

lays in the length – or rather,

keeping the length long, a la Ruby

Rose. To style, create an even,

deep part on air-dried hair using

comb, then grab a waxy pomade

to help lock.
